Alice's Summer Thing

Last June 26, I was in San Francisco with Steven, Harris and Pam at the Golden Gate Park for Alice's Summer Thing. It was an amazing experience being with 15,000 people in an open field just chilling while reading books and snacking. The event was a success and the best thing was that it was FREE. Anyways, it was the first time I heard if Andrew Allen and he is amazing LIVE! One Republic also killed it in the end and their performance of Good Life was the best of the day. But seriously guys, if you havent heard of Andrew Allen before, I think he's such a talented up and coming singer... and he's sooo hot too!!! =D

Love, G

P.S.

I know this is suppose to be a fashion blog but I havent even posted pictures of my outfits in the longest time but that's because Steven sucks at being my designated photographer =( BLAAAHHH... I promise though, there will be a lot of pics in the future because I think I shop at least twice a week.

2011 Top 5 Summer Essentials

My favorite season is here! I know summer can be extremely excruciating for some people but I'm the kind of person who thrives in heat! Here's my (most used) summer essentials this year!

5 Nars Blush in Taos - IDK about you but I think Nars makes the best blush ons. Taos has this dark coral color and a hint of shimmer that's gives you a nice blush perfect for summer.
4 Mac Lipstick in  Russian Red - I dont even have to explain why... Russian Red is the only color I consistently use day and night!
3 Forever 21 Hat - Aside from being stylish these hat also protects your mane from heat and is perfect when you don't have time to style your hair. I always braid my hair to the side and put these babies on for a summer effortless laid back look.
2 Jeffrey Campbell Lita - I've been lusting for a pair of these babies since last year and when I finally got them last month, I've been wearing them everywhere ever since. These babies are not only super comfy and chic but it also give you a towering height. It's perfect with shorts, tights and dress!
1 Loreal Bronzer in Glam Bronze - I am absolutely in love with this product. It's super inexpensive but the quality is topnotch. It gives you not just a beautiful bronze it also gives you this illuminating gold undertone! Perfect summer product especially for those having a hard time to get a perfect tan like me.

Have a good summer everyone!

Game Of Thrones

NO SPOILERS INCLUDED... I promise ;)

I admit... I'm not the very best blogger and I have been ignoring this site lately. Sorry --- but after finals... my days consisted of finishing Stieg Larrson's Millenium series, chilling and watching summer movies, going to San Francisco and watching my (hands down) favorite TV series ever - Game of Thrones. For those of you who have been living under a rock the past 2 months, Game of Thrones is the latest epic series from HBO. Based on the bestselling book by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is about different families fighting off to claim the throne. I know the premise seems kind of a cliche and boring but I watched the show not knowing what the story is about or not even seeing the trailer. Steven wanted to watch it badly and I even hesitated at first but the story and the production is mind blowing. After the first episode, I'm hooked. The beauty of it is that it did not follow the traditional storyline. Every episode you think you know what's going to happen but they take this false hope off you and they twist it and you just go "woahhh... I didn't expect that at all!"

Season 1 just ended 2 weeks ago and the ending just makes you want Season 2 to start RIGHT NOW. My favorite characters would be Arya and Ned Stark... Arya cos M. Williams is super cute and adorable and cos Sean Bean is just always perfect... and Daenerys and Khal Drogo... Their story went from OMG that'r horrible to OMG they're so cute together... Anyways... if you don't have anything to do for summer, disappointed with season 2 of spartacus and don't really have anything to do... Game of Thrones is a pretty epic show. I just ordered the 4 books and I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS OF THESE BABIES =D

Enjoy!!!
Love G

I'm having Khal Drogo/Daenerys withdrawals... sigh... =(

The Girl With Dragon Tattoo

When they were showing trailers before the main feature X-Men: First Class played (which is a super good movie BTW...), the trailer for Girl With Dragon Tattoo trailer played and I was just blown away. The music they used and the scene cuts were intense. I have heard of the book but never really got the chance to read it. I bought the DVD of the original Swedish version awhile ago and I was impressed after watching it. I watch A LOT of movies and honestly think that lately, all they ever come up with are sequels, superhero movies, alien movies and corny romcoms. Based on the novel by the late Stieg Larsson, the storyline of The Girl With Dragon Tattoo is just remarkable. I was so absorbed with the movie the whole time. The acting was incredible and the character development was interesting. I'm especially attracted to the character of Lisbeth Salander - super badass hacker with a photographic memory.

Anyways, the US remake is coming out this December 2011. I have to admit, US remakes have the reputation of - well lets just say they never live up to the originals... An example will be Spanish horror film REC and the US version of quarantine, The Grudge, The Ring... the list can go on. However, I'm really hoping that this one will be different since Daniel Craig was selected to be Mikail Blomkvist and Stellan Skarsgard is playing Martin Vanger!!! OMFG... I really liked the girl who played Lisbeth in the original Swedish version but I hope Rooney Mara can do a great job on this one.

Venice Beach Photo Diary

Over Memorial Day Weekend, I was in LA to visit my cousins. For some reason I have been going to Venice Beach during Memorial Day Sunday in the last 3 years. I just love the culture, the art, the people, the street performance, fashion and the beach. I bought some items like the wolf hat, the abstract ring made from wirings and a venice beach jacket from an old couple... Every time I go to LA I always have to make sure that I go here. =)

Spring Bloom

Forever 21: Sheer Floral Top

Yesterday after school, Pat, Steven and Ricky decided to go on a random drive up to Highway 9 in Saratoga. We went to 7/11 to get snacks and drinks. Bay area weather was absolutely beautiful so I decided to wear my new sheer floral top from forever 21. The drive up was a little bit scary cos the roads were narrow and a lot of folks race up the highway. When we got to the spot, the view was breathtaking... Will post more pictures later cos I have to go to work at 11. =(

Love, G
P.S. Is anyone else here using Picasa 3??? Their new feature called picnik is amazing! I used the effect "cross process" on the first picture and it makes the image look very vintage and chic. LOVESSS IT.

On the other hand, cant waaaiiittt to go to LA next weekend. I miss socal!
